Prince William’s Estonia Travel Happened At Critical Point For World Security

Prince William's Estonia Travel Happened At Critical Point For World SecurityPrince William’s visit to Estonia was warmly received by locals, with many standing out in the open for hours to catch a sight of the Prince when he arrives.

However, this is not like any other state visits, as it comes at a critical time for global security. Here’s what this royal expert has to say about it.

GB News’ Cameron Walker Weighs In On Prince William’s First Visit To Estonia Amid Security Issues

Prince William’s visit to Estonia at a time of critical global security is said to be highly symbolic due to the fact that he is the future Head of the Armed Forces.

With fear of Russia’s attacks reaching Baltic nations, and Russia continuing its offensive attacks on Ukraine despite President Trump’s attempt to broker a ceasefire, Europe is facing definite unrest.

UK is not only standing with its fellow NATO member, but is proving crucial in their defense against Russian attacks.

The Head of Estonia’s Foreign Intelligence Service is advising counterparts to be aggressive in its response to Russia’s attacks, which could include GPS jamming, stealing navigational equipment, and cyber-attacks.

UK’s response to Estonia’s aid was a swift one, featuring 900 soldiers – largest permanent deployment of British troops anywhere in the world – to help guard NATO’s eastern flank close to the land border with Russia.

In accordance to the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation’s Article 5, which states that “an attack on one is an attack on all,” the UK has deployed military presence in the region to act as a deterrent to any attack from Russia.

During his time in Estonia, the Prince of Wales will be visiting British, Estonian and French personnel at the Tapa army base. He is the second member of the Royal Family to visit the region this year, since Edward did so in January.

GB News’ Cameron Walker believes it is part of the UK Government’s desire “to use the Royal Family to demonstrate soft power on the international stage.”

Walker continued: “As Colonel in Chief of the Mercian Regiment, His Royal Highness is expected to oversee a handover ceremony as the battlegroup takes over from the Royal Dragoon Guards (Prince Edward’s regiment).”

In addition to this, William’s presence in the region will further drive media attention to how NATO prepares their forces to be ready against any and all threats from the East.
