Prince William’s New Home Prevents Him From Pursuing Favorite Hobby

Even a Prince can’t always have his way in this world, it seems. After moving his family to “forever home” Forest Lodge, in all its $21 million price tag glory, Prince William has been forced to give up this hobby in respect of the estate’s strict rules.

Reason Prince William Can’t Ride His Electric Scooter Around Forest Lodge’s Vast Grounds

Even though William now has more space to enjoy his electric scooter to his heart’s content at the new property, a strict rule means he has to sadly pack it away.

William has been spotted dashing to places on his rather cool electric scooter, as happy as a lark, in recent years. But since he moved his family to the mansion, which is located within Windsor Great Park, he’d have to devise new means of transportation, as well as pinpoint a new hobby.

Per Windsor Great Park’s website, e-scooters and other motorized modes of transportation are not allowed.

“For reasons of safety and traffic management, we do not allow motorised transport within the Park. Aside from cyclists, the roads are reserved for residents and Estate workers,” the site’s instructions read.

In the family’s prior home at Adelaide Cottage, scooters were permitted, allowing William to indulge in this pastime however he chose.

In fact, he once rod in on a scooter for his ‘The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy’ segment, leaving Levy much amused.

“This is not what I was expecting,” Levy exclaimed when he sighted the royal puttering to their meeting place on an electric scooter. “This is your mode of transportation?”

William then amicably explained, “We live just outside the castle, but my father spends a lot of time here. We use the castle for work and meetings. And I’m always late, so I thought this was the way to keep my meetings on time.”

Footage of the Prince on his scooter first went viral in 2024, leading a source to explain, “it just makes sense.

He whizzes up to the castle when he needs to see the King. It’s a two– or three-mile round trip from his family home at Adelaide Cottage to Windsor Castle, so it’s easier by scooter than car or walking.”

Oh well, with no scooter rules in place, do you think he might switch to a boring old bicycle? Or maybe… wait for it… a skateboard?
