Princess Anne has long been called the hardest working royal in the firm and for a good reason, too. Even though most of the world is either on lockdown or practicing social distancing in order to help curb the novel coronavirus outbreak, for Princess Anne, it’s business as usual.

The royal did not cancel any of her royal duties or obligations this week and in fact, was on hand to fulfill her responsibilities as vice-Patron of The British Horse Society. Here’s what you need to know.

As of press time, the Covid-19 virus has infected over 200,000 people in 150 countries. The death toll has risen to 8,000 people, with half of them in China. While the UK government is encouraging everyone to either work from home or practice social distancing, the royal family has remained rather quiet, with Princess Anne being the lone exception.

According to new reports, Princess Anne continued her royal duties this week while also taking necessary precautions. On Tuesday she arrived at the Addington Equestrian Centre in Buckingham. Even though many people in the UK are ramping up on preventative measures, Princess Anne is still fulfilling her duties and ‘sharing goodwill’ within the government’s advisory guidelines. She was even all smiles for the photographers during the engagement.

Meanwhile, reports have also said that Queen Elizabeth is taking no chances and that she is self-isolating at Windsor Castle for the next several weeks. Prince William was the first member of the royal family to acknowledge the coronavirus pandemic by sharing a new message on the Kensington Royal Instagram account. However, the Duke of Cambridge’s message came a few hours after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s viral post about the virus on their own Instagram account. Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles, meanwhile, are yet to make any comments.

So far Buckingham Palace has not released an official statement from the royal family but it has been noted that the Queen has cleared her calendar from any upcoming royal engagements and public appearances.
