Princess Anne Is The Only Royal Who Can Train Princess Charlotte for This Precious Role

British royal family news reveals that Princess Charlotte of Wales is in the line of succession to the British throne.

The reality is that her older brother George is currently tagged to become monarch, but she would become queen in the circumstance that her father William, Prince of Wales, or George, passes away or abdicates the throne.

In the meantime it is presumed that Charlotte will receive another title, that of Princess Royal. It is the title used by Princess Anne and there is a tradition that comes with the naming. Here is what to know about Charlotte and Anne’s unique place in history.

Anne And Charlotte Have This In Common

The title of Princess Royal is classically reserved for the eldest daughter of the reigning British monarch. It doesn’t carry any extra responsibilities unlike the titles Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall, which involve estates.

Likewise, the title does not denote a specific rank, but the moniker Princess Royal is a prestigious title that is held for life.

If and when Charlotte is given the title, she will be known as Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, and if she marries, her husband’s last name will not be included.

Princess Royal Is A Respected Title

With this title, Charlotte is allowed to represent the sovereign and the U.K. overseas and honored with the task of working with charities and patronages.

King Charles has no daughters, but Charlotte is only eligible for the title and role when Anne passes away. Charlotte won’t become Princess Royal immediately however, this will happen when her father Prince William becomes king and bestows it upon her.

If Princess Charlotte becomes Princess Royal she will follow in the footsteps of women, like Anne, who have a reputation for being loyal and hard-working. Historically, Anne has been named the hardest working royal over Charles, several times over.

A source told Woman magazine that Anne is helping Charlotte by giving her a “royal crash course … Anne’s ‘training,’ if you will, isn’t just about rank, file, and curtsies either. She’s shown her how to spark conversations, but also how to end one and move on without upsetting anyone.”

Charlotte is already a trend setter, with a clear influence on style and fashion. Charlotte’s public outfits routinely sell out and she has endeared herself to the public with a confidence and cuteness that belies her years. She will make an excellent Princess Royal someday.
