Inside Lady Kitty Spencer’s Expensive And Intricate Dresses
You know what they say, no one glows like a bride on her wedding day, and it couldn’t be any truer for Lady Kitty Spencer, the niece of the late Princess Diana. The 30-year-old was walked down the aisle by her two brothers as she married 62-year-old Michael Lewis in a lavish ceremony. Lewis, who is twice Kitty’s age, is also five years older than her father Charles Spencer. He has three children from his previous marriage and upon saying “I do”, Kitty legally became the stepmother of his three grown-up children.
The bride spent the previous week in Italy with friends in preparation for her big day. The ceremony was attended by famous faces like Elon Musk’s mother Maye, who is a Canadian South-African model, Emma Thynn, Marchioness of Bath, along with pop singer Pixie Lotts and her model boyfriend Oliver Cheshire.
The wedding took place at a stunning country mansion in the Villa Aldobrandini in Frascati. The bride wore a high-necked Victorian inspired wedding gown by favorite designer Dolce and Gabbana. The gown featured trendy puff sleeves and a cinched waist.
To get the dress just right, the designers said they only had four fittings. Dolce & Gabbana’s Alta Moda division reportedly took about six months to complete at their embroidery factory and Milan atelier.
“They’ve been beautiful and emotional moments,” Dolce said. “One of the inspirations is definitely her love for Italy. Kitty is in love with our beautiful country and its rich history, art and culture.”
Stefano Gabbana further added: “But she is also a girl who is very attached to her origins, to England; to her heritage of the great Victorian era. And like all the English people, she has a great passion for all kinds of flowers.”
“For the main dress she wanted to keep a fairly traditional, clean cut, but at the same time she desired to have a timeless allure,” Gabbana continued.
Dolce said: “It was all very natural and authentic. Lady Kitty Spencer described to us her dream dress, and we have tried to interpret her wishes.”
Kitty, who is a global ambassador for the brand, also wore a baby-blue tulle gown and cape embroidered with cross-stitched flowers made for her by Dolce & Gabbana.
Following the ceremony, the bride donned a double organza hand-painted silk gown embellished with flowers and crystals. She later wore a cocktail dress embroidered with silver and golden beads.
Yesterday she donned a Mikado silk dress with cutwork inserts, embellished with sequins, applique flowers and double duchesse ribbons.
Kitty Spencer’s Wedding Details
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who were previously set to attend Prince William and Harry’s younger cousin’s wedding, couldn’t make it due to COVID reasons.
While it remains unknown whether her father Charles Spencer was present at the wedding, Kitty was walked down the aisle by her brothers Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp and Samuel Aitken.
Michael and Kitty were joined by her twin sisters, Eliza and Amelia, and Mr. Lewis’ three adult children from a previous marriage were in attendance.
After the ceremony, the newlyweds toasted their marriage on the balcony of the villa surrounded by friends and family. Keep checking Celebrating The Soaps for more Royal Family news and updates.
