Princess Diana Would Have Wanted To Settle Prince William And Harry Feud Privately

I think we’re right back to playing the old “what would Princess Diana do if she were alive” game. Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe believes he’s figured it out and said so during his recent chat on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive show.

As a former Metropolitan police officer, Ken looked after the young royal from 1986 until 1993, that is, four years before Princess Diana’s tragic death.

Princess Diana’s Former Bodyguard On What the Late Former Royal’s Reaction Would Have Been To Her Son’s Public Feud

What role would have Princess Diana played in resolving the rift between William and Harry if she were with us today? Well, her former bodyguard has answers.

Princess Diana Would Have Wanted To Settle Prince William And Harry Feud Privately

“The sad thing is, Diana’s death in 1997, that was a traumatic experience certainly for them. They lose their mother so publicly,” Ken said. “In Prince Harry’s particular case, as a 13, 14-year-old, he is, in a sense of duty, he has to walk behind his mother’s coffin to Westminster Abbey. Up until that point, even after that point they [Harry and William] remained good friends.”

The former royal employee continued: “To answer your question, how would Diana have influenced, or had any influence on resolving their issues in later life? What this turmoil needed or needs even now, is someone to convene and try and sort this out.”

He explained, “It is never going to be sorted out publicly, it has to be sorted out privately.”

However, he claimed that the feud continuing doesn’t come by any fault of the King, who he says would have tried to get the situation under control.

“Coming back to how Diana would resolve that, because Diana knew William and Harry probably better than anybody else, [she] would have understood the problems, [she] would have seen the issues surrounding the complications with Harry and Meghan and all that that had with it at the time.”

He also went on to say that Diana would have “loved” to know that her son married “a woman of mixed race, a divorcee, and an American.”

“I think Diana, if she were alive, would have seen all the complications, the complexities of that, knowing how royalty works, [and] would have been a great motivator to try and resolve that issue – which I’m sure she would have done.”
