Gone are the days when the “where is Princess Kate” hashtag rocked the entire online world. The conspiracy theories borne of that era are such to keep an idle person amused for days in turn – the “hide and seek gone wrong” theory still has me quaking to this very day whenever I remember it.
But alas, our Princess has not been kidnapped by the French, nor is she doing humanitarian work in Pakistan, she’s safe and sound in the UK recovering from surgery.
The happy news here is that her recovery process must have gone according to plan, because the Princess is sticking to her original timeline to return to royal duties, which was always to be after Easter. And so, after Easter she comes.
Princess Kate To Review Trooping the Color Ahead of Main Event Following Break From Royal Duties
The Palace has officially announced the first engagement Princess Kate is to undertake this year 2024, and it comes roughly two months after the Easter Holiday celebrations.
“Trooping the Colour reviewed by Her Royal Highness The Princess of Wales is identical to Trooping the Colour reviewed by His Majesty The King, with the exception that some additional mounted officers ride when His Majesty The King is present,” the official Household Division announced.
“Taking part will be over 1400 soldiers of the Household Division and The King’s Troop Royal Horse Artillery, including 400 musicians from the Massed Bands, all of whom will parade on Horse Guards for the second of two formal Reviews.”
Princess Kate’s review is said to include the inspection of 250 soldiers from the Foot Guards who will line the processional route along The Mall. She is undertaking this duty as part of her role as the Colonel Irish Guards.
Trooping the Colour has always been the highlight of the royal family calendar, with several members of the family coming out to celebrate the occasion with the public. The Princess of Wales is expected to review the exercise event on June 8, one week before the main event.
It’s still possible that the Palace may still announce other events Kate will take part in ahead of June, but for now, we’ll have to satisfy ourselves with this one.
