British royal family news reveals that Princess Kate has achieved Yeti status due to her disappearance from public life and the vast speculation that’s caused.
Conspiracy theorists went off the rails on Sunday after a photo of her, no doubt meant to calm the waters, was “killed” by news agencies hours later. The image was manipulated by the source they said, and news of Kate’s death roared again.
Of course there is no reason to believe anything untoward about the princess, Kensington Palace said she would not be seen until after Easter following a January “planned abdominal surgery.” That being said, here are five other times the monarchy has chosen to play the public and not tell the whole truth. To their detriment.
Royal Family News – Prince William
In early 2020 it was announced that King Charles had COVID, all good in the name of transparency.
Then the rumor mill lit up when anonymous source told The Sun “William was hit pretty hard by the virus – it really knocked him for six. At one stage he was struggling to breathe, so obviously everyone around him was pretty panicked.”
The prince had COVID in April 2020, and according to Vanity Fair “William didn’t want it getting out because he didn’t want to worry the nation.”
Royal Family News – Queen Elizabeth
In late 2021, Queen Elizabeth canceled a planned trip to Northern Ireland. At the time the palace said she was “resting” as she was advised to do by her doctor. Nope.
It was later discovered that things were much more serious than that and that Queen Elizabeth was actually hospitalized. Why don’t they just tell the truth?
Royal News – King George VI
In 1951, King George VI’s left lung was removed. The public was told that “structural abnormalities” were behind the decision.
According to Buzzfeed “In reality, though, the king had cancer – likely caused by his heavy smoking. The true diagnosis was originally kept secret from the public (and some speculate that it was also withheld from the king, himself).”
They added “Cancer was not mentioned in his death announcement, Time reports.”
Royal Family News – King Charles
In February, Buckingham Palace announced that King Charles had been diagnosed with cancer. He is now undergoing treatment, and this follows a prostate surgery in January.
But the palace has not been entirely forthcoming, choosing not to divulge details about the type of cancer nor its stage.
Royal Family News – Princess Margaret
The outlet notes that the late Princess Margaret’s mental health struggles have been compared to Prince Harry “both of whom lost a parent early in life, were publicly shamed for falling in love with their person of choice, drank excessively, and struggled with depression.”
Biographer Andrew Morton wrote that when Princess Margaret threatened to jump out of a window at a party, Queen Elizabeth allegedly told the guests “Carry on with your house party. Her bedroom is on the ground floor.” Wow.
The queen also denied Margaret permission to marry the man she loved, which many think contributed to her woes.
