The Princess of Wales has her upcoming Christmas carol service and it’s become a very popular annual event. While it’s a big calendar flag, Princess Catherine might have some reservations. Why is that? Read on to find out more.
The Problem With Politicians
For a long time, the royal family and politicians stayed in their own lanes in the UK. But, with the festive season and especially the carol concert, William’s wife might end up dealing with political figures seeking favorable publicity.

Royal commentator Neil Sean spoke about it during his Daily News Headlines vlog on YouTube on Sunday night. In it, he suggested the current Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, might use the event for personal gain.
Clearly, the royal commentator isn’t a fan of him as he said, “This man will say anything to try and twist a story.” Next, Sean pointed to the Prime Minister’s poor polling numbers. He then explained that being photographed with the popular royals offers “some…glorious PR.”
Politics, Royals & PR
In his opinion, the Prime Minister might hope that Princess Catherine’s royal “warmth” will improve his own public image. And if that’s the case, then the Princess of Wales might face an awkward situation.
Apparently, as the British Prime Minister, he can request an invite. Well, Catherine can’t refuse, and that, the royal commentator claimed, leaves her trapped by protocol. Sean said that he feels a bit sorry for her, noting that she’s in a “very difficult state.”
Fallout For William
Of course, he also raised the subject of Prince William and recalled a similar situation. In fact, Sean reminded folks that social media reaction proved that association with the “most unpopular polling British prime minister in history did nothing for his good books.”
Therefore, of course, the same fallout could come for the Princess of Wales. The bottom line of the concert seems to represent a tricky situation. The Princess organizes a wonderful gathering for very special people. Yet, it now serves as a potential platform for political PR.
In conclusion, Sean felt that despite the event’s positive spirit, the external threat might be a touchy thing to cope with. So, he hoped that the wrong crowd wouldn’t overshadow the Christmas message. Who would have thought things could get so complicated?
Viewers React
In the comments section, it seemed that many people also felt a bit sorry for the Princess of Wales. But, they think she’ll be okay. One person opined, “The Prime Minister, just like Markle, is NOT in the same league as Princess Catherine.”
Here are a few other reactions:
- Praying for her health and stamina this week for this event.
- I have a suggestion for our beloved Princess of Wales. Tell him all the seats have already been allocated to hard working charity workers and volunteers, so his only option would be at the very back of the Abby.
- Politicians come and go according to the electorate. The Royals (with the exception of Andrew and Harry) are a constant. Catherine doesn’t need the PM at Westminster Abbey.
- HRH Catherine the Princess of Wales is fabulous. She should ignore the noise and do what she does best; shine like a star!
