Queen Camilla Banned Princess Catherine and Sophie Wessex From This Important Perk

British royal family news shows that Queen Camilla has worked hard to turn the tide of public opinion to her favor. There was a time when she was reviled by the British public, following the late Diana’s assertion that she was the third wheel in her marriage.

But old habits die hard, as one anecdote making the rounds indicates. Is Camilla still making enemies—here’s what one source has to say about that!

Royal Family News: Queen Camilla Ruffled Feathers

According to OK! a source claims that Camilla raised eyebrows when she allegedly banned Kate Middleton and Sophie Wessex from wearing her favorite color—blue–at royal engagements.

The source dished: “The Queen is now able to choose her outfits before all the other women in the royal family. It’s part of the royal pecking order and that includes the clothes and color. Her Majesty’s favorite color is blue and so is Kate’s. Sophie is also quite fond of it.” Guess who won the argument?

The source said that now “as long as the blues are very different shades” all three ladies may wear blue! And, luckily for Camilla, Kate and Sophie have great senses of humor because at the end of the day “it all became a bit comical with all the ladies seeing the funny side.”

Blue-gate isn’t the first time that color has made for controversy in the royal family. Before she fled the monarchy, Meghan Markle made a bold claim about how her attire was restricted.

Royal Family News: Meghan Not Allowed to Wear Color?

“Harry & Meghan” is the title of the couple’s Netflix reality show. In it Meghan clacked: “Most of the time that I was in the U.K., I rarely wore color. There was thought in that.”

According to Meghan “you can’t ever wear the same color as Her Majesty if there’s a group event. But then you also shouldn’t be wearing the same color as one of the other more senior members of the family.”

Meghan portrayed herself as a team player saying that she strove to be blend in by wearing “Camel, beige, white … so I wore a lot of muted tones, but it was also so I could just blend in.”

So Meghan, the Suits star blending in? Yes, in Meghan’s mind she was “not trying to stand out here. There was no version of me joining this family and me not doing everything I could to fit in. I don’t want to embarrass the family.”

Obviously at some point in time Meghan’s viewpoint changed. Tell us royal fans, do you think that Meghan had a legitimate beef about allegedly being denied the right to wear fuchsia?
