At 76, Queen Camilla did an impressive job holding her own in absence of the King. But now she needs a little rest to recharge ye old bones, but it calls into question whether Prince William can successfully manage everything as the only working senior royal for the time being.
Let’s not forget that his wife is still recovering and his attention is needed at home much oftener than usual.
Queen Camilla’s Decision To Take A Short Holiday Leaves Doubts As To Who Is In Charge
Many key royals are out for the count at the moment; King Charles, Princess Kate, and Prince Edward.
Even William was out for sometime last week as a result of a “personal” matter, so Camilla was left as the last standing key royal.
Even now, it’s about to change as the Queen has a holiday spot booked and a jet with her name on it to take her there.
As a result of this, Ingrid Seward wondered, “This will raise the question of who’s in charge at such a vital time and with so many key royals out of action.”
However, many believes she needs the rest, what with her hectic week of outings and meetings.
Since last month, Camilla has carried out 13 official engagements. Amongst these are events she should have attended with the King, but held it solo due to the King receiving cancer treatments.
Last week saw her lead the family at the memorial service for King Constantine in St George’s Chapel. She followed this up by hosting a reception for hundreds of guests.
On Wednesday, she was the most senior royal on duty at a reception for a children’s creative writing competition at Buckingham Palace.
The following day she met the First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, at Clarence House. Of course, Camilla would be delighted to be getting this breather.
King Charles Would Have “Insisted” On Queen Camilla Taking A Break
King Charles would have been sensible to Camilla’s exhaustion and would have “insisted” on her taking a break, Seward further said.
She added: “He will see that she is exhausted after recent months. Camilla has had the ultimate worry about her husband’s health. Camilla has had the ultimate worry about her husband’s health.”
“She has also been the one who has had to step up to the busy schedule of royal engagements as well as wanting to be there for him and Kate whilst they each have their health issues. She certainly deserves some rest and relaxation.”
On March 11, Camilla will return to royal duties by filling in for the King for the Commonwealth Day service, which will be held at Westminster Abbey.
