Buckingham Palace announced the sad news on Instagram on Nov. 18 along with a carousel of photos.
The post reads: “A sad farewell to Beth, The Queen’s much-loved companion from @Battersea Dogs and Cats Home who brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire.”
Royal Family News – Queen Camilla’s Dog Dies
Photos include one of Queen Camilla smiling as she walks Beth plus pics of them with Bluebell, “Queen Camilla’s second rescue Jack Russell Terrier who she adopted from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home in 2012.”
According to People, in 2016, Queen Elizabeth made Camilla patron of Battersea Cats and Dogs, an organization from which she adopted her own dogs.
Beth and Bluebell appear in official portraits and Camilla managed to incorporate them into her coronation outfit.
Showing just how dear Beth was, “When King Charles and Queen Camilla were crowned in 2023, the Queen had a doodle of her beloved pups embroidered near the trim of her gown by designer Bruce Oldfield, along with the names of her children and grandchildren.”
Royal Family News – Beth Was A Rescue Terrier
Beth passed away over the weekend and had been suffering with an incurable tumor. The sweet pooch was “known for being friendly and affectionate and particularly good with Queen Camilla’s five young grandchildren. In one image shared by the Royal Family, Beth is seen kissing King Charles’s nose as he bends down to pet her.”
Palace insiders say that Queen Camilla is “very sad” following the loss of her beloved dog whose tumor necessitated euthanasia. Beth was just three months old when the queen adopted her in 2011.
The queen herself has been ill as of late. She was unable to attend Remembrance Day events due to what the palace called a chest infection.
