On Wednesday, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle announced their decision to step away from their senior roles in the Royal Family. Apparently, nobody else was aware that the couple was even thinking about this. Queen Elizabeth, Prince Charles, Prince William and more were reportedly “blindsided” by the decision, which is being dubbed “Megxit.”

The Royal Family was aware that Harry and Meghan wanted to do things differently. However, talks were in the very early stages. They announced the news to the public before any approvals or details had been ironed out.
“… that’s created a huge sense of disappointment among other royals. Harry and Meghan have essentially put their wish list into the public domain before anything has been sorted out.”

Royals News: Orders To Find ‘Workable Solutions’

The media outlet reported that there is word that Queen Elizabeth, along with the Duke of Cambridge and Prince of Wales have given their team orders to find workable solutions. A royal expert stated that the answer to this dilemma needs to happen within days, not weeks.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Announcement

Earlier this week, Harry and Meghan wrote a letter explaining their decision to step back. They also revealed that rumors of them moving out of the country are only partially true. They will split their time between North America and the U.K. Then, they signed the statement and uploaded to social media, as well as the new Sussex Royal website.

Buckingham Palace Does Damage Control

Kensington Palace has not said a word about “Megxit.” However, in an attempt to do damage control after being blindsided by Harry and Meghan’s news, Buckingham Palace was quick to release a statement.

“Discussions with The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are at an early stage. We understand their desire to take a different approach, but these are complicated issues that will take time to work through.”
