Earlier in August, the Queen traveled to her Balmoral Estate for her annual summer break. There, she was joined by her family members, including Prince Charles and Camilla, and of course Andrew and the York family. The only thing that could have disrupted her holiday would have been having to travel to Windsor to appoint a new Prime Minister.
At first, it was believed she would make the trip, but close sources later revealed that she wasn’t in any state to make the journey. The candidate, Liz Truss, then had to travel to Balmoral to meet the queen for the “kiss”.
Last we heard of the Queen’s health, she was fine except for some recurring mobility issues. Has anything changed since then?
Why Is the Queen Cancelling So Many Engagements?
Well, apart from the obvious reason, which is (unsurprisingly) her age, she’s also having an ongoing mobility issue that prevents her from standing or walking a long distance.
This has meant that she’s now using cane to aid her more frequently and she’s pulled out of several scheduled events.
While the Queen is not known to suffer from any major medical condition, she does suffer some pains in her knees, hips and back, said to be normal for people her age.
The Queen has a team of health professionals monitoring her health to prevent any drastic changes.
In 2021, the Queen was taken to the hospital for the first time in a number of years after pulling out of an engagement in Northern Ireland.
According to palace insiders, confirmation of Her Majesty’s decision to attend an event will only be made on the day of the event.
