Queen Elizabeth Won’t Be Attending Archie Harrison’s Christening

It will be a big moment for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle but unfortunately, it looks as though Queen Elizabeth won’t be there for the occasion. There’s a new report that says the leader of the monarchy won’t be at Archie Harrison’s christening next month because of a previous commitment. Here’s what you need to know.

According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are planning Archie’s christening at Windsor Castle some time in the beginning of July. And while a date hasn’t been set yet, it looks as though the Queen won’t be there. That’s because she has back-to-back royal engagements and public appearances throughout the summer months, which means she will be missing this moment for little Archie.

Of course, this isn’t the first time that a high-ranking royal has missed out on a special occasion. Just last year Camilla Parker-Bowles was forced to miss out on Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s wedding in October simply because she had a commitment that was already penciled into her schedule.

Now, just because Queen Elizabeth will be missing out on Archie Harrison’s christening, that doesn’t mean she won’t be there in spirit. As a matter of fact, it looks as though the Queen is already trying to make up on her absence by inviting Prince Harry, Meghan Markle and Archie to spend time with her at Balmoral Castle in Scotland for the Duchess’ birthday.

Meanwhile, it looks as though the world won’t be getting another glimpse of Archie until his christening. New mom Meghan Markle has also been keeping a low profile, as she hasn’t stepped out since the Trooping the Colours in London earlier this month. That’s because she’s taking advantage of all the free time that she has right now during her maternity leave.

This week The Queen will attend #RoyalAscot. Each day of the week begins with the Royal Procession, when HM & accompanying Members of the Royal Family arrive along the track in horse-drawn landaus.

Some reports have even indicated that Meghan doesn’t plan on going back to work anytime soon as she doesn’t have royal engagements scheduled until later on this year.
