Queen Elizabeth’s annual Christmas Day broadcast included her expressing excitement over the newest member of the Royal Family. That is, of course, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s baby boy, Archie. Plus, there are rumors that Her Majesty “snubbed” certain family members, which isn’t true at all.
Royal News: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Baby
Earlier this year, Harry and Meghan welcomed their first child, a son they named Archie. After only taking five months of maternity leave, the new mother was whisked away to Vancouver Island. The parents and their child are spending Christmas away from the Royal Family this year.
It has received a lot of criticism and rumors, but they spent the past few years in the United Kingdom. So, it’s only natural that every once in a while they would like to take a holiday by themselves. It is part of their six-week break from royal duties and had prior approval from Queen Elizabeth.
Royal News: Queen Elizabeth’s Christmas Day Message
In her yearly Christmas Day announcement, Queen Elizabeth discussed a lot of topics. One of which is her joy over baby Archie. She talked about what a delight the baby boy is and that it is her and Philip’s eighth great-grandchild.
Royal News: Royal Family Members Snubbed?
There are rumors that Queen Elizabeth “snubbed” certain family members. One claim was that she did so by not having their photos sitting prominently at the front of the desk in which she sat. Prince Andrew’s photo was there, but it was toward the back. It is easy to understand why he would be “fading into the background” considering the scandal he caused.
However, there is a logical explanation for the other family members that didn’t get their photographs displayed in the front row.
Royal News: Lots of Family, Not Enough Room
Queen Elizabeth was sitting at a desk and there were tons of photographs lined up. However, she has a huge family that includes children, grandchildren and now multiple great-grandchildren. Plus there are extended family members as well. There simply wasn’t enough room for everyone’s photo to get a “front-row seat.”
It doesn’t mean they were being snubbed at all — it was simply one desk with not enough room for everyone’s photographs to be displayed upfront and center. That’s all there is to it.
