Kate Middleton – Fought Cancer this Year
According to former British prime minister, Boris Johnson, he saw Queen Elizabeth two days before her death in September of 2022.
On September 6 he visited Balmoral and explained in his memoir, Unleashed, that “Edward Young, her private secretary, tried to prepare me. I had known for a year or more that she had a form of bone cancer, and her doctors were worried that at any time she could enter a sharp decline.”

Young reportedly told Johnson that the Queen’s health had deteriorated over the summer. But he noted the “illness only appeared to exist in her body—her mind was completely unimpaired by her illness.”
Johnson reminisced on his final visit with Her Majesty writing that she “still flashed that great white smile in its sudden mood-lifting beauty.”
Queen Elizabeth’s official cause of death is listed as “old age” on her death certificate.
Royal Family News The Queen Loved Balmoral
At the opening of the Scottish Parliament, King Charles reflected on his mother’s decision to spend the final days of her life at Balmoral, the family’s summer home.
He said “Speaking from a personal perspective, Scotland has always had a uniquely special place in the hearts of my family and myself. My late mother especially treasured the time spent at Balmoral, and it was there, in the most beloved of places, where she chose to spend her final days.”
Princess Anne, in BBC’s 2023 documentary, Elizabeth: The Unseen Queen also shed light on the queen’s final days: “We did try and persuade her that that shouldn’t be part of the decision-making process. I hope she felt that that was right in the end, because I think we did.”
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Prince Philip, and she died with her children by her side.
