What has got the queen feeling a bit blue? The exact reason has not been disclosed by the palace, but some sources are wagging their tongues about the queen’s activities and how they may have left her tuckered out.
The Queen Loves TV
According to one insider, she is “knackered” from watching too much TV late plus enjoying too many lunches with friends. Apparently knackered is Brit for tired, and really is there such a thing as too many lunches with friends?
The news was given last week after she cancelled a planned visit to Northern Ireland. The news was “leaked” that she had been hospitalized, and Buckingham Palace confirmed this. Nonetheless the palace claims the queen is, “in good spirits.”
Be that as it may, a source spilled to the Sunday Times: “She is knackered.”
Is The Queen Tired?
The source cited her busy schedule of public engagements plus a, “constant flow of lunches and dinners with family and friends, because the queen does not want to dine alone.”
Her husband died at the age of 99 in April. At the time her family stepped up to say that she would never feel alone, but maybe they are overdoing it?
In addition the queen is reportedly fond of watching tv, staying up to watch ‘Line of Duty’ among other faves. She was reportedly told to lay off the martini’s but it’s not been confirmed that she has.
The Queen Is Ordered Not To Drink
According to the source, former royal nanny Mabel Anderson (who looked after the queen’s children and lives on the Windsor estate) often joins her. They said, “The Queen rings her up sometimes and Mabel goes and watches television with her. They are very cozy.”
Last week the palace confirmed that she had gone to the hospital for “preliminary investigations” on Wednesday and remained overnight. The spokesperson said, “Following medical advice to rest for a few days, The Queen attended hospital on Wednesday afternoon for some preliminary investigations, returning to Windsor Castle at lunchtime today, and remains in good spirits.”
