Andrew Morton Believes Harry And Meghan’s Influence In America Is Diminishing
Andrew Morton, the writer behind the biography “Diana’s Diary: An Intimate Portrait of the Princess of Wales”, has also said that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are seeing diminishing support in the States.
But more than that, he believes that Harry and Meghan’s decision to step back as working members of the royal family will favor Harry’s father and brother.
“I think the irony is that Prince Charles and Prince William saw themselves as being the leaders of the slimmed down monarchy.
“In a way, Harry and Meghan have done them a favor by jumping ship, rather than being asked to walk the gangplank.”
Morton has also been involved in writing many famous royal biographies over the years, including one on Diana and a recently updated one: “Meghan and the Unmasking of the Monarchy”. The biography explored how the former “Suits” actress came to be where she is today in California with a British Prince and two children.
Andrew Morton explained that Harry and Meghan are trying to take on the role of the victimized couple in America, with Prince Harry seemingly appearing more humble to the American public.
“I think that the narrative that they’d like to project is that they arrived in Los Angeles with a couple of suitcases and a cuddly toy and that was it,” Morton told Salon.com.
He added: “I think the reality is that they’ve been planning this move to Hollywood for some time, not necessarily where they were going to live.”
