The Prince and Princess of Wales have made it their tradition to go skiing with their children whenever they can get a time off. It’s a sport the whole family reportedly enjoys, and it’s starting to look like Wills and Kate passed on their sporty and competitive nature to their kids.
As Lambrook School embarked on their half-term holidays, the family of five have taken a quiet vacation to recharge their batteries for the next round of busy days ahead.
Royal Commentator Jennie Bond On How the Waleses Are Moving On After the Queen’s Passing
The Queen’s death was something of a cultural phenomenon and her funeral was a global event. Naturally, the eyes of the world were on the surviving members of the Queen’s immediate family, and apart from the pressure of the press, anyone can imagine that it wouldn’t have been an easy time for the family.
However, it’s been more than a month since the Queen passed, and Catherine and William are invested in moving on.
Speaking with OK!, royal commentator Jennie Bond shared a few theories regarding the way the Waleses would be handling moving on after the chaos surrounding the Queen’s passing.
“Catherine will just try to make it as normal as possible,” Bond opined. “After their great-granny’s passing, William and Catherine will try to move things on as quickly as possible and not dwell too much on the sadness of the last couple of months.
“Even though William will undoubtedly have moments where he feels very sad, he will try to shield the children from it.”
This is probably why the family were keen to take a vacation this half-term holiday.
“It’s been a brutal [work] schedule for William and Catherine and they’ve got a very young family,” she said.
“I think the work-life balance must have been difficult these past few weeks and, let’s face it, it’s not going to get any easier with their new responsibilities.”
Jennie Bond Believes Prince William and Princess Catherine Are “Getting To Know” Their Neighborhood
It’s reasonable that you’d want to be acquainted with your new surroundings and the people around you when you move to a new house, and that’s what, according to Bond, the royals are doing right now.
“It’s a strong bet that they’re enjoying being in Windsor and settling down after all that has happened,” Bond suggested.
“I can imagine they’re getting to know their new surroundings and the children will be exploring the grounds there. They may also be taking this time to do any personalizing they want to do in their home, making it how they want.”
She added, “They will be focusing on family time and will be enjoying the outdoor pursuits they love like cycling, horse riding, walks, taking the dog out and barbeques—enjoying autumn and recharging their batteries after a very difficult first half-term for the children.”
