British Royal News says that there seem to be very few people who have been left impressed with what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have to say in their Netflix docuseries, Harry and Meghan. Here’s what you need to know.

Even though Harry and Meghan didn’t necessarily say anything specific about any of the royal family members in their Netflix doc, they did touch a lot on racism within the monarchy and in Britain with its Commonwealth and colonist history.

That is enough to leave a lot of royal family members quite upset. “This has always been so much bigger than us,” Harry says in the documentary. “We know the full truth. The institution knows the full truth and the media knows the full truth because they’ve been in on it.”

The New York Mag puts it this way, “While they complain bitterly about the media’s invasion of their privacy, in the Netflix show they invade their own privacy to an embarrassing degree, with endless pictures of them embracing and cooing while they discuss their romance. And when he criticizes the palace and the monarchy, Harry might try to remember that if he weren’t the son of the king of England, no one would be listening to him.”

What’s more, Harry also talked about his mother’s BBC Panorama interview and while he does admit that she was duped into doing it, Princess Diana also did it because she wanted to tell her side of the truth.

He said, “I think she had a lived experience of how she was struggling living that life. She felt compelled to talk about it. Especially that ‘Panorama’ interview. I think we all now know she was deceived into giving the interview, but at the same time she spoke the truth of her experience.”

So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about the matter even though Netflix alleges that they reached out to the palace for comment. Volume 2 of Harry and Meghan drops on Netflix on December 15th.
