Royal Family Fans Stunned To Learn Prince Andrew Will Stand With Queen At Prince Philip Memorial

British royal family news reveals that many royal experts are aghast at the news that Prince Andrew will stand beside his mother, Queen Elizabeth, at a poignant memorial service for his late father. Prince Philip died last April at the age of 99. He passed away at Windsor Castle surround by loved ones and a memorial in his honor will be held at the end of March.

Royal Family News – Prince Andrew Will Appear With His Mother

Royal sources told The Sun that the disgraced Duke of York is expected to appear at the ceremony for Philip at Westminster Abbey on March 29. It is a marked turnaround from his absence in public as a senior royal following the sexual assault case brought against him by Virginia Giuffre. He is set to be deposed in the case just days before Philip’s memorial.

The Sun reports that Andrew will be present beside Her Majesty as she resumes her work schedule. She had been largely sidelined after a health scare last year.

Royal Family News – Andrew Will Be Deposed

A source told the outlet that, “Prince Andrew is expected at the Service of Thanksgiving [for Prince Philip] as he is a son of the Duke of Edinburgh.” Prior to the ceremony Andrew will have been deposed under oath on March 10, in response to a civil lawsuit brought against him in a NYC courtroom. Giuffre alleges that, “she was forced to have sex with the disgraced royal on three occasions when she was only 17 years old.” Andrew has denied the claims against him.

The outlet states that, “Andrew is preparing to give a seven-hour witness statement to lawyers, which will be delivered via video call. Virginia’s lawyer, David Boies, also predicted that the royal would be questioned for ‘a day or probably two.’”

The lawyer has said, “I’m going to try to get him to understand that this is not going to be combative. Obviously, I’m going to ask him a lot of questions.”

What Will Andrew Say?

Boies added, “And although some of the questions may be uncomfortable, I’m not going to be aggressive or in any way offensive to him. I’m going to be respectful.”

Andrew has maintained his innocence in spite of a widely circulated picture of him with his arm around the bare torso of his accuser. At the same time his lawyers were unsuccessful in having the case thrown out due to the plaintiff’s 2009 settlement with Andrew’s friend, dead convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. Giuffre claims it was Epstein who forced her to have sex with Andrew on three occasions when she was a minor.
