Royal Family News: Are Archie And Lilibet Joining Their Parents For The Queen’s Funeral Next Week?

British royal family news divulges that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in the UK this week purely by chance when the queen suddenly took ill and later died Thursday at Balmoral. They were scheduled to depart in a matter of hours when the queen passed away and now it has been reported that they will remain until the funeral on September 19.

This has led some to suggest that the couple will have their two young children Archie and Lilibet fly to the UK for the Queen’s funeral.

According to the Daily Mail, “The US-based Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly confirmed they will be staying in Britain until the end of the royal mourning period, which finishes seven days after the service on September 19.”

Archie, three, and Lilibet, one, are in California with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland, and at this point the family has been apart for a week. According to The Telegraph, “the Sussexes are now trying to work out whether Doria and the children should fly out to the UK.”

The Express yesterday reported that, “a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess confirmed the couple will stay in the UK for the period of royal mourning.”

The Duke and Duchess were to attend there last of three events, an awards show in London on Thursday night, but cancelled their appearance as Harry, after doctors said they were, “concerned for her health.”

Harry was in mid air when Buckingham Palace announced the death of his grandmother. He flew by private jet from Luton Airport, arriving at Balmoral an hour and a half after the historic statement. The announcement was made at 6.30pm, a little over an hour after Prince William and other senior royals had arrived to join Charles III at the Queen’s residence. The new PM Liz Truss, who was installed by the queen two days prior, was told at around 4.30pm.

On Saturday evening, crowds outside Windsor were gobsmacked to see Prince William and Kate Middleton, and Meghan and Harry walking together as they took in the enormous floral displays left by mourners. The reunion marks the first time that the two couples have all appeared in public since Commonwealth Day on March 9, 2020, just weeks before the Covid lockdown.

The headlines today should read Happy Birthday Prince Harry. Without any negative remarks. The media needs to leave the family alone to mourn and grieve for their loved one that has passed away. Pick up if you feel the need after the funeral. But for the time of mourning leave the negative speculations out of the media so this family can mourn in peace.

Well said Lind Streeter. Until you have walked a mile in another person’s shoes you should not criticize them.
