Royal Family News: Are The Royals Getting Into The Gin Business?

There seem to be a great many celebrities getting into the alcohol business. From Ryan Reynolds’ Aviation Gin to George Strait’s Código 1530 Tequila that are numerous spirits with celebrity names attached.

Now, The Royal family appears to be getting their feet wet with alcohol. Specifically, Zara Tindall’s husband Mike Tindall is venturing into the business, per Marie Claire. Royal Family News – A Not So New Royal Alcohol Business?

After a rewarding career as an English rugby player, Tendall went on to launch a podcast titled The Good, The Bad & The Rugby along with cohosts James Haskell and Alex Payne. The royal has also got on board with charity events such as a 770 km (about 478.46 mi) bike ride that stretched from Lake Geneva to Nice, raising money for Parkinson’s disease, a battle his father is currently engaged in.

Mike’s most recent endeavor is into the gin business which he is calling Blackeye Gin which is fitting considering his former career as a Rugby player. Further details about the gin have been kept hush, though one Marie Claire speculates that one unsigned bottle could cost £40 ($47.70), and a signed version could cost as much as £60 ($71.50).

Apparently, the Queen has given her royal approval to the spirited business venture as she is reportedly known to enjoy a little firewater from time to time and even has her own gin which is sold at the Buckingham Palace shop. It will run you about £40 ($47.70) there.

Royal Family News – ‘They’ve Made my Family Feel Welcome’

Mike Tendall, who has recently been touring the UK with his podcast as well as attending Wimbledon with his wife Zara, the Princess Royal’s daughter, has admitted to being overwhelmed with the welcome he has received from the Royal Family.
