According to reports, the Duke of York has spoken to his lawyers about getting his accuser Virginia Roberts to retract her allegations that she made against him. Apparently, Andrew was inspired to act after Roberts had dropped her lawsuit against another man. One source close to the situation says,

“Andrew felt as if he was in a pressure-cooker, as if he was given no option but to settle. But he never wanted to settle and has always insisted he was innocent. He wants to see what legal routes might be available to him. This isn’t about the money. He wants a route back to some sort of normality after a deeply trying period. I can tell you with confidence that Prince Andrew’s team is now considering legal options.”

Of course, it didn’t take very long for many royal fans and critics alike to weigh in on the matter. Some have taken to Twitter to write comments such as, “It show the state of this country when Prince Harry is vilified for telling the truth but Prince Andrew, accused of raping a sex trafficked girl is polling higher with the over 65s. MPs can’t even debate about whether £12m of our money was used to pay her off,” along with, “It’s actually crazy the amount of abuse Prince Harry gets for literally just standing up for his wife like any real man should do, but yet he’s more spoken about and hated than the sexual predator Prince Andrew who has been allowed back into the royal family.”

Another critic wrote, “Who would of thought a Prince speaking out about press intrusion and alleged family violence would be more threatening and intolerable to the tabloid press — than alleged sex abuse by Prince Andrew. The treatment of Prince Harry is far worse than his uncle received.”
