Royal Family News: Disgraced Prince Andrew Turns 62, Family Snubs Him

British royal family news shows that disgraced Prince Andrew had insult added to injury when he was snubbed on his birthday by his nearest and dearest. Friday, February 18, was the royal’s birthday and not only his mother the queen, but also his brother Charles, Prince of Wales, and nephew William, the Duke of Cambridge, “forgot” about him.

Usually a royal birthday is a cause for celebration but not this time around. For the year 2022, Andrew’s birthday fell in the same week that he reached an out of court settlement with a woman who accused him of sexual abuse.

The three most senior members of the royal family chose not to acknowledge him publicly, breaking with tradition. A source stated, “For the Queen, there is business and there is family. The two are very different.” Compounding the ignominy, “Andrew has not been awarded the honor of having flags flown on town halls to mark his birthday,” according to the Daily Mail.

Prince Andrew Had A Birthday

On Tuesday it was announced that Andrew reached an out of court settlement in his civil sexual assault case brought against him by Virginia Giuffre; on Friday he turned 62.

Andrew has been mothballed since 2019, after he had a train wreck interview with the BBC, with the intention of clearing his name regarding the sex abuse scandal. Instead, his performance was judged to have made him look even worse, and he then, “stepped back from Royal duties in the wake of the Jeffrey Epstein scandal.”

The settlement announcement lacked crucial details, such as the amount of money Andrew is to hand over to Giuffre, “who says she was forced to have sex with him on three occasions by Epstein – claims he has always strongly denied.”

It’s been reported that he has 30 days to settle, “a seven-figure payment but The Mail on Sunday understands that funds from the sale of his Swiss ski chalet are not yet available because the deal has not been completed. A source suggested that Andrew may require a short-term bridging loan – possibly from the Queen – to settle his debt to Ms Giuffre.”

That suggestion alone has caused a furor in the UK, with citizens demanding to know if the queen will indeed pay part of his settlement, and if so, will she use public money to do so? So far there has been no comment from Buckingham Palace on the matter.
