Royal Family news reveals that, according to at least one insider, royals are “terrified” at what could possibly be revealed in Prince Harry’s book and King Charles III isn’t looking forward to it. Read on and we’ll give you the low down.
Royal Family News – Does King Charles Want Harry Back?
Royal Family news reveals that, according to Mint, King Charles is not looking forward to the upcoming release of the Duke of Sussex’s memoir, “Spare.” Royal biographer Christopher Andersen believes that King Charles sees Harry’s book as a “betrayal.” CBN reports that Charles is equally aggrieved at Meghan Markle’s comments about the royal family.
Christopher Anderson, who wrote “The King,” the first biography of Charles since ascending the throne. The book’s publisher, Simon & Schuster claims it’s an “authoritative chronicle” of Charles’ life. In it, Anderson claims that Charles has been in communication with his son over the last two years, presumably to let him know that he still loves him and try and get him to return to the fold, so to speak.
Prince Harry Book – A Series of Grenades?
Aside from communicating with his prodigal son, and trying to get him to alter course, the King complimented Harry for his environmental efforts. He also reportedly mentioned Harry in a speech following the Queen’s death in December.
Entertainment Tonight (ET) wrote that Charles and Camilla, along with the rest of The Firm, are “terrified about what their estranged son might say in his memoir. The book reportedly delves deeply into the prince’s upbringing as well as his mother Princess Diana and her marriage to King Charles III.
According to Anderson, this book is likely to be another “series of grenades” that the Sussexes are throwing at Buckingham Palace. The expert intimates that Charles feels “betrayed” by Harry since, in the King’s mind, the Royal Family initially embraced Meghan Markle.
Readers may recall that when Markle’s father snubbed her wedding, it was Charles who walked her down the last portion of the aisle. Also, as Mint reports, Charles was the first to grow close to Meghan’s mum.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Dissed At Queen’s Funeral?
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, on the other hand, “felt dissed,” Anderson says, at what they saw as a series of slights at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.
“I think Harry and Meghan really felt dissed in essence by the rest of the family, by not being shown the proper respect that they felt they deserved,” he said. “They were shoved off to the side. There was no warmth really between or connection between Harry and the rest of the royal family.”
“When Harry and Meghan showed up, I think [they were] expecting an olive branch to be extended in a real way [and] it wasn’t,” Anderson continues. “... At certain points during the funeral of the queen, you could see the hurt on their faces, I think, and the disappointment and the anger.
“If Charles had hoped to have Harry excise something out of the book that he’s writing, I think that [hope] flew out the window as a result of the way they were treated at the funeral.”
Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, is set to hit shelves on January 10 and Christopher Anderson’s The King is out on November 8 of this year. Be sure and stay up to speed on this and all royally related stories. Return here often for more Royal Family news and updates.
