British royal family news shows that Duchess Kate Middleton of Cambridge and First Lady Jill Biden met Friday against the backdrop of the G7 Summit. The women appeared to hit it off immediately as they made a joint appearance at a local school, with both women keen education advocates.

The ladies visited Connor Downs Academy in Hayle, West Cornwall. Kate said, “It’s a huge honor to have you in the United Kingdom,” and thanked Biden for her interest in early education. They were then introduced to young students and later led a discussion with educators on the benefits of early childhood schooling.

Biden said of the visit, “I met some wonderful teachers and principals and most of all the children, who were so inspiring and so well behaved. I couldn’t get over it.”

That evening senior royals including Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla of Cornwall, Prince William and Kate had a meet and greet with the world leaders in attendance at the G7 Summit.

The event was historic as it included a reigning monarch and two future monarchs, and the day seemed to highlight Kate’s ascension within the hierarchy. For one thing, she carried her purse with her throughout the day, something the queen is known for.

The evening event was a private reception at the Eden Project, which is an environmental and educational center in Bodelva, Cornwall.

Royal Family News – Princess Kate Is A Modern Day Princess

While the VIPs comported themselves accordingly, reporters couldn’t resist the opportunity to ask Kate about her personal life. One reporter asked her if she had met her new niece, Lilibet “Lili” Diana the new daughter of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry who have unrelentingly trashed the royal family. The baby was born one week ago and the family resides in California.

“I wish her all the very best. I can’t wait to meet her,” Kate said of the new baby who was born an American citizen on June 4. She added, “We haven’t met her yet. I hope that will be soon.”

Not wanting to be left out of the conversation apparently, another reporter followed up with the question as to whether not Kate had Facetimed with her in-laws and seen the baby.

“No I haven’t,” she said diplomatically.
