Elton John has a new album titled Lockdown Sessions, and there is a documentary on the album’s creation. He recently tweeted: “Surprise! Just in time for the holidays, I’m taking you ‘Inside the Lockdown Sessions’. Watch as I go deep into the making of my latest album with all of my collaborators.” This will be welcome news to fans of the piano maestro who was once a confidante of the late Princess Diana.

Besides his friendship with Diana, Princess of Wales, he has publicly supported her sons Prince William and Prince Harry. Elton is friends with Meghan Markle and Prince Harry and he appeared on their first and only Spotify podcast. A year on from their boastful signing with Spotify, it’s being reported that the company is growing impatient with the fickle pair who have done zero to earn their million dollar contract.

Royal Family News – Elton John Was Friends With Diana

Because of his friendliness with certain royals, Elton has had occasion to be in the company of the queen. In his 2019 book titled ‘Me’, he tells a funny tale involving the queen, the UK’s longest serving monarch.

According to Elton he once saw the queen act like millions of other elders when she disciplined Princess Margaret’s son Viscount Linley. Apparently he tried to argue with her and she was having none of it.

According to Sir Elton’s autobiography, “I know the Queen’s public image isn’t exactly one of wild frivolity, but… in private, she could be hilarious.” In the instance in which he refers to, at one point she told the younger royal, “Don’t argue with me, I am the Queen!”

Royal Family News – Elton John Has Witnessed The Queen’s Funny Side

“I saw her approach Viscount Linley and ask him to look in on his sister, who’d been taken ill and had retired to her room. When he repeatedly tried to fob her off, the Queen lightly slapped him across the face, saying, ‘Don’t’ – SLAP – ‘argue’ – SLAP – ‘with’ – SLAP – ‘me’ – SLAP – ‘I’ – SLAP – ‘am’ – SLAP – ‘THE QUEEN!’”

As Elton recalls, he couldn’t help but stare at this dressing down. He wrote, “she saw me staring at her, gave me a wink and walked off.”
