British royal family news reveals that new mom Princess Eugenie has barely had time to ensconce herself and her brand new baby in their home and already the public is making demands of her.
Her unnamed son was born on Tuesday at 8.55am at London’s Portland Hospital and soon after she posted a cute black and white pic of her baby’s hands on Instagram.
Now some are demanding that she release “proper pictures” of her newborn son.
This is Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank’s first child, The Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York’s first grandchild, and the ninth great-grandchild for The Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh.
Royal Family News – Princes Eugenie Is A Brand New Mom
Royal author Phil Dampier claims that the public are, “probably entitled to see proper pictures of her baby,” due to the amount of taxpayer money spent on her 2018 wedding.
The wedding reportedly cost the public about around £2 million, and the Thames Valley Police were in force for protection. The BBC declined to televise the event and it ws picked up instead by ITV.
Dampier told the Telegraph, “Eugenie did have quite a lavish wedding, therefore the public are probably entitled to see proper pictures of her baby rather than an Instagram image of her fingers.”
“It’s a difficult balance to strike when you have a royal couple seeking publicity on the one hand, but privacy on the other.”
Royal Family News – Is Eugenie Out of Line?
Later on Tuesday the palace released a statement about the birth: “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie was safely delivered of a son today, 9th February 2021, at 0855hrs at The Portland Hospital. Jack Brooksbank was present. The baby weighs 8lbs 1oz.”
“The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Duke of York, Sarah, Duchess of York, and Mr and Mrs George Brooksbank have been informed and are delighted with the news. Her Royal Highness and her child are both doing well.”
Royal Family News – Does Princess Eugenie Owe The Public A Picture?
Ingrid Seward is the editor of Majesty magazine and claimed that the photo Eugenie posted on Instagram shows how younger royals are taking PR matters into their own hands via social media.
She said, “Eugenie’s had a really privileged life, she’s never, ever had to rough it. But I don’t necessarily think she is consciously backing away from royal tradition; I think it’s just the era that she’s in. The younger generation of royals does want to do things on social media. It’s arguably easier to control the narrative that way.”
