Royal Family News: How Far Will Prince Harry Go To Excoriate His Stepmother Camilla?

British royal family news shows that Prince Harry’s ghostwritten upcoming memoir threatens to cause a case of royal heartburn when it drops this year. Harry has vowed to tell the “truth” as he sees it, and he is known for roasting and toasting what he perceives as his family’s failings without mercy.

The much-anticipated book has reportedly caused his grandmother Queen Elizabeth to “lawyer up.” After all he has trashed her as the head of the Commonwealth and he has accused her son and heir, Prince Charles, of being a lousy dad. Everyone has a Prince Harry-type in the family, but not every Prince Harry-type has a worldwide platform from which to verbally abuse.

Author Angela Levin wrote a biography of Prince Harry and told Talk Radio (via The Sun) that the royals are right to be concerned about what he could write about his step-mother Duchess Camilla.

“Anyone who is anyone is saying it’s going to attack Camilla and make her responsible for [his] mental health and how she stole his father from his mother.”

All of which is ludicrous. The only one responsible for Harry’s mental health is Harry. And someone who is a real professional should tell him that televising his therapy session, which he did last year, is no one’s best interest.

Angela noted that when she met Prince Harry, “he was very nice about [Camilla], said she was a wonderful woman and said he liked her very much.” Things change though. She also said that Camilla was, “very helpful to Meghan when she first joined—took her out for lunch and tried to teach her some of the things she needed to know—the restrictions and the disadvantages as well as the positives.”

Despite this good will, Levin thinks that Harry will continue to be “spiteful” toward the royal family, and use his book as a weapon. “Prince Charles is very malleable because he loves Harry very much so he might be more inclined to let him have his way, but I think if he reads what he says about Camilla then he won’t do that.”

Additionally, a source told The Sun that Prince Charles told aides he is afraid that Harry’s book will be an “excoriating takedown” of Camilla. Apparently, “Charles has shared his concerns with William and is keen he somehow goes on the record and sticks up for Camilla should the book attack her. But as much as William loves his father, he’s unlikely to want to get involved. In all likelihood, he will try and stay neutral.”
