Royal Family News: In Terms Of Palace Popularity Meghan Has Dropped Out Of The Top Ten

British royal family news reveals the jawdropping bombshell that the queen is no longer the most popular member of the Royal Family. Has she been replaced by Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex?

Don’t be silly! After his brave conduct through the coronavirus crisis it is her grandson Prince William who is now the most popular royal.

Royal Family News – Who Is The Most Popular Royal?

For some time it has been Queen Elizabeth who has reigned supreme at the top of the popularity charts conducted by pollsters YouGov.

But surveys taken between October and December of last year reveal that Her Majesty is now in second place, a position she is unaccustomed to.

Some 1,400 British adults were asked to give their opinion of the Queen, and the majority, 73 percent, had a positive opinion of the monarch.

Some 16 percent said they had a neutral opinion of her and a mere 11 percent said they had a negative view of her.

Prince William managed to best the Queen by scoring a 75 percent positivity rating. Nonetheless, as her score shows, Queen Elizabeth is still popular across all age groups.

But the YouGov data shows that the generations born between 1965 and 1980 hold her in the highest esteem.
A full 77 percent of the people in this age bracket have a positive view of the Queen, and the next generation – people born before 1964 – were the second group at with 73 percent.

Royal Family News – How Do Other Royals Fare?

How do the other royals fare in terms of popularity? Sophie, Countess of Wessex, and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, have taken over Meghan Markle in the charts, who now ranks a dismal 11th. Among the 1,515 British adults asked about Meghan, a stunning 40 percent said they have a negative opinion of her. Just 32 percent have a positive opinion of the Duchess and 25 percent are undecided.

Her husband, Prince Harry, has also dropped in public favor and he is barely in the top ten at number 8. Just 41 percent say they have a positive opinion of him and next to him is controversial Camilla, with a meager 37 percent positive opinion rating.

In contrast Princess Anne now ranks number 4 with 50 percent of people saying they have a positive opinion of her. Also in the top five is Kate Middleton.
