It bought up the two-hour interview with Oprah Winfrey for £1million despite dire warnings that it would represent a “diplomatic bomb” if the Philip, Duke of Edinburgh’s health takes a turn for the worse.
ITV beat out Sky to the rights after the BBC declined to broadcast it.
Now experts are questioning whether ITV will make money from the deal if businesses choose not to advertise during the two hour show.

Some ITV viewers have already vowed to boycott the show completely due to the “horrendous timing.”

Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told MailOnline, “ITV’s decision to purchase the rights to Harry and Meghan’s highly sensational interview with Oprah is deplorable. Who knows how matters linked to the Duke’s health will play out over the coming days. ITV have made the wrong decision and they would do well to await events before deciding when to screen it here.”
Some have called on the couple to postpone their blockbuster with PR guru Mark Borkowski saying, “The timing is just horrendous. This could be a real reputational mess for everybody involved. I think brands have to take a considered view about whether they want their advertising anywhere near this.”

Royal Family News – Will The Public Revolt Against ITV?
Royal watcher Phil Dampier said, “They can only hope and pray that the Duke recovers and goes home. If something happens to him it would look terrible. Even if Harry and Meghan wanted to stop it they probably can’t and it’s out of their hands.”
And one industry insider told the Mirror the interview would be a “diplomatic bomb” if it airs and Philip’s health worsen: “CBS has sold millions of dollars worth of advertising around the interview, but bosses are aware of the delicacy of the Duke’s health.”
The Mirror’s Royal Editor Russell Myers added, “The history is there with these types of interview – they never end well – this is a disaster waiting to happen.”

Who would have thought self pity, glass half empty, poor rich and privileged me would be the new gold or oil. Megan and Harry's favorite pity party fashion accessory comments are their favorite go to with every outfit and event. This constant self pity is not a good look on anyone and does such a huge disservice to people with real problems like poverty, lack of healthcare, hunger, this list is endless. They don't need to keep sniveling to the press and media, they don't need to air their private and personal issues for money to feed their family. If they are struggling because of family issues it's because they are perpetuating it themselves with sensational interviews which stir up not just trouble but public interest and inevitable press and media frenzy. If Harry is genuinely concerned about ending up like Diana, him and his wife should go and get some professional help, get a psychiatrist and sort out you personal issues in private because, no disrespect to Oprah but a talk show isn't the answer. No media interview is going to help with a mental health issue. This situation is just going to fuel a bigger storm, cause more family problems and set mental health problems and family dysfunction further back. The fact that this couple cannot maintain even a cordial relationship with most family members on both sides is indication that there is something fundamentally wrong. With all their emotional dysfunction the shouldn't lecture people, especially young people.
Me-again….why don't you just shut-up!!!!! Face it….there are people who do not and will never like you….that's life!!! Are you going to "go after" everyone in the entire world who does not particularly like you…….just like you, everyone else has an opinion and a preference. You are not the most likable person, and your actions of late, my dear, have proven the same. I think that personnel in the palace have better things to do than focus on you and "perpetuate falsehoods" about you. Where there is smoke there is fire!!! These are not new accusations! You have been miserable to people ever since you set foot in The Royal Family and you have had to be put in your place and told how to behave. There are some who would not trust you as far as they could throw you, and righty so, it seems. You proved yourself untrustworthy by trying to make every public appearance an opportunity to voice your personal and political feelings, despite being told that as a member of The Royal Family, you do not do that sort of thing. And….you were caught snooping around where you had no business. It's a blow to your over inflated ego, you had to be "instructed" on how to behave, and you just couldn't stand that. You figured you knew it all! You are spoiled, and extremely outspoken and tactless and ignorant….you've been allowed to run wild all your life, and expected to be able to act like that as a member of Harry's family. Well….Harry's family are civilized people!!!!!
