Royal Family News: Jeremy Clarkson Calls Meghan Markle “Silly little Cable TV Actress”

British royal family news reveals that jobless Piers Morgan has received some moral support via a blistering op-ed published in The Sun. The article comes after Morgan’s stunning exit from “Good Morning Britain” after the show’s weatherperson took offense to comments he made about Meghan Markle.

His comments sparked thousands of complaints but his exit has resulted in a steep drop off in viewership—at least the audience can still get the weather report.

Grand Tour presenter Jeremy Clarkson defended Morgan even though they have been on opposite sides of the fence in the past. The two notoriously opinionated men nearly got into a physical altercation at the 2004 British Press Awards. In The Sun Clarkson said he found Meghan and Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah “especially weird” because “for the first time ever, I found myself in full agreement with both Nigel Farage AND Piers Morgan.”

He added that Markle is, “much revered by the young and the stupid who believe that her brand of simpering victimhood will one day bring down the monarchy, but it won’t.”

He correctly noted that the British royal family has endured far worse including, “beheadings, affairs, abdications.”

“If the British monarchy can soldier on through that,” he added, “I’m fairly sure it’ll be able to weather the banal musings of a silly little cable TV actress.”

Clarkson went on to say, “Trust me on this one. Markle’s toast, and within five years, I suspect she’ll be posing for photographs, on her own outside the Taj Mahal or sitting on the back of a playboy’s yacht in the Med, and poor old Piers will realize that he lost his job over absolutely nothing at all.”

After Piers aired a similar opinion about Meghan, the British broadcasting regulator Ofcom received over 50,000 complaints (a record number for them) about two episodes of “Good Morning Britain” that aired on March 8 and 9 in which Morgan reacted to Markle and Prince Harry’s tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey that aired in the US on March 7.

During the first episode Morgan said he, “didn’t believe a word” Markle said during the controversial interview and during the second episode he walked off during the live broadcast after weather presenter Alex Beresford condemned him for “trashing” Markle.
