Royal Family News: Kate Middleton Behind This Clapback To Prince Harry & Meghan

British royal family news shows that every now and then an uttered phrase is so deliciously raw, kind of like ceviche, that it becomes an instant and enduring one-liner. Such is the case with the royal family’s immortal rebuttal to Harry and Meghan trashing them to Oprah: “recollections may vary.”

It ranks right up there the Markles’ former employer, Spotify, tagging them as “f****** grifters.” What is it about H and M that lend themselves to being supremely ridiculed? Rhetorical question.

There’s been a stunning development in the case of the infamous words “recollections may very” and you will be shocked to learn who is responsible for introducing this legendary riposte into the lexicon. Read on to find out which royal is actually behind the blistering response.

Royal News: Princess Kate Is A Brilliant Wordsmith

Would you believe that Kate, the Princess of Wales insisted that Queen Elizabeth include “recollections may vary” in the family’s official and united response to the trash talking Markles? Royal expert Valentine Low makes this claim in his book Courtiers.

According to the Daily Mail, Low claims that “A team of courtiers had stayed up overnight on Sunday to watch Meghan and Harry’s interview which was screened on US TV in the early hours of the morning UK time.”

Royal News: The Queen’s Was Firm

Apparently the official rebuttal was delayed until Queen Elizabeth watched the interview and it wasn’t until “Tuesday when the serious negotiations began over the official response to Harry and Meghan – with William and Kate leading the fightback.”

Allegedly the first draft did not include the famous phrase and was too mild for William and Kate: “They wanted it toughened up a bit.’”

Low maintains that a courtier suggested the “recollections may vary” phrase, with at least two palace aides arguing against it. But Kate insisted it should remain, with Low’s book stating “It was Kate who clearly made the point … unless this phrase or a phrase like it is included, everything that they have said will be taken as true.’”

Tell us royal fans, does it surprise you that Kate was so adamant about clapping back at Harry and Meghan? And, do you think was she right?
