Royal Family news reveals that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s exit as working members of The Firm has caused a good deal of their workload to be dumped on Kate Middleton. Read on and we’ll fill you in on the details.
Royal Family News: The Work Must be Done
Royal Family news reveals that, according to Marie Claire, the Royal Family isn’t just a family that gets paid for waving, it’s actually a fully functioning business. If fact, it isn’t named The Firm on a whim. And as is the case with any business that loses key “employees” the work must be passed on to the next available qualified individual.
Multiple outlets are reporting that the bulk of the extra work left behind by Harry and Meghan will fall on the shoulders of the Princess of Wales.
Royal Family Stretching Thin
According to Royal expert Daniela Elser, even while dealing with personal issues with the media and “institutional racism” within the Royal Family, Harry and Meghan fulfilled their duties and attended engagements as working members of the royal family. Now that workload will be falling into the hands of the Princess of Wales.
“The loss of the Sussexes from the royal fold dealt the royal family not only a serious reputational blow but a hands-on one too,” Elser explained (via OK!). “The remaining HRHs are going to be stretched ever thinner.”
Kate Middleton Pays the Price for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Within a short time of losing Harry and Meghan, The Firm was hit with another workload loss. Prince Andrew, who was also a full-time working member of the Royal Family before that sexual assault scandal that also saw him lose his royal patronages and military titles, Andrew stepped down as a working member of The Firm.
As Prince William and Kate Middleton are the only senior members of the family who are under 50, they reportedly represent an important demographic for The Firm, one they are keen to keep engaged. Elser says of the princess, “there is one person in particular who will end up paying the price for much of this tumult and change: Kate, the now Princess of Wales.”
The royal expert adds that the King and Queen Consort only have “about a decade” before they retire from international tours, shifting even more weight to the Prince and Princess of Wales.
Queen Elizabeth Had Great Trust in Kate Middleton
Elser says Charles and Camilla only have “about a decade” before they leave behind international tours, according to The Daily Express, shifting even more responsibility to the Prince and Princess of Wales. Her Majesty the late Queen Elizabeth also reportedly trusted Kate a great deal according to royal expert Joe Little who discussed it in an interview last year.
“The Queen very much regarded Catherine as…a safe pair of hands. She’s been a member of the royal family for 10 years now. I think given all that’s going on in the past few years in the royal family in terms of the fallouts…the Queen has great trust in Kate.”
