Now it looks like dependable, reliable Kate Middleton could be given another plum assignment once held by Prince Andrew. He was stripped of his royal roles and titles due to a questionable friendship with dead convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

That connection got more complicated in February when Andrew paid off a sex abuse accuser who claimed she was trafficked by Epstein to Andrew. Andrew has denied the charges. The settlement was reported to be in the neighborhood of $10 million dollars, and did we mention Andrew has denied the charges?

At any rate, reputable royals such as Kate the Duchess of Cambridge could be given Andrew’s former role as Colonel of the Grenadier Guards.

Prince Andrew inherited the role from his father Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh. Philip, who died last year at the age of 99, was Colonel of the Grenadier Guards until 2017. After Andrew was gifted the prestigious position he was forced to give it up, “a month before the civil sexual assault case brought against him in the US by Virginia Giuffre was settled in court. The role returned to the Queen by default is now said to be being bestowed upon the Duchess of Cambridge,” according to Woman and Home.

If the role is bestowed upon Kate, she will become the first female Colonel of the Grenadier Guards in 80 years.

Kate Middleton has been relied upon to represent the queen at major events, both alone and in tandem with her husband Prince William. She will stand-in for the Queen at the Sovereign’s Parade at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and this is considered proof that she is due to take on an honorary military role.

This January The Times reported that Kate was the royal that the Grenadier Guards preferred to replace Prince Andrew. According to the outlet, an insider from the Grenadier Guards spilled that, “From straw polling through the ranks, they would all love it to be Kate. We all admire the way she has fitted in and behaved, she never seems to put a foot wrong.”

If Kate takes over, she will be required to attend medal parades, regimental gatherings, dinners, and galas. She already has such experience as she has attended military functions with William who is Colonel of the Irish Guards.
