Royal Family News: Kate Middleton, Prince William’s Daughter Turns Six

Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, have three adorable children. And while royal family news headlines tend to focus on the boys because of the succession rules for the throne in the U.K., it’s Princess Charlotte who appears to have stolen the spotlight from her brothers Louis and George.

Get ready to wish little Charlotte a happy birthday as she turns six! And find out why she’s being called a “warrior” princess with a “bright future” below!

Meet Princess Charlotte As She Turns Six!

For Charlotte, royal life comes naturally. She’s been photographed giving the royal wave to the crowd, participated in her Uncle Prince Harry’s wedding to Meghan Markle, and even learned to curtsy to Her Royal Majesty, Great-Grandma Queen Elizabeth!

What does the future look like for the little girl whose nickname is “Lottie” in the royal family? Bright and bold, according to royal family expert Katie Nicholl.

Prince William and Kate Middleton’s daughter is headed for a major role in the royal family, predicted Katie. Nicholl described the six-year-old as “feisty” with a “huge personality.”

At first, Charlotte stayed in the background as her older brother Prince George dominated the stage. But through the years, we’ve watched this little warrior princess become a royal child in her own right. Determination has become her key characteristic.

And Princess Charlotte is using her “huge personality” to make sure that neither her big brother Prince George or younger brother Prince Louis get in the way, say royal family observers!

“She’s the most outspoken of the Cambridge children because she’s got a huge personality,” summed up Katie Nicholl.

Royal Family News – What Does the Future Hold for ‘Warrior’ Princess Charlotte?

Princess Charlotte ranks as the fifth great-grandchild of Queen Elizabeth. As the fourth in line to the royal throne, Charlotte theoretically is viewed in the category of “the spare to the heir” (with that heir being Prince George).

Reflecting on the implications, Katie explained that Queen Elizabeth’s sister Princess Margaret also belonged in the “spare to the heir” category. And although her “feisty” personality resembled Princess Charlotte, Margaret faced challenges in always “being in the shadow of a future monarch.”

But Nicholl sees more hope for Charlotte. Nicknamed the “Warrior Princess” at her nursery school, Charlotte is “the most buoyant and outgoing” of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s three children, according to the royal family expert.

“It’s that strength of character that will stand her in good stead when she’s older,” added Kate. “She’s a real all-rounder and she has a bright future ahead of her.”

Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, has described Charlotte as self-assured and viewing herself as the “boss” of her royal home. Charlotte also has been compared to her father Prince William.

“She’s outspoken and cheeky like William, who was an outgoing little boy who knew his mind,” added Nicholl.

Charlotte enjoys riding horses, playing tennis, and exploring outside. Her parents are focused on steering clear of stereotypes for what’s appropriate for little girls versus little boys, with Charlotte just as fond of tractors as her big brother George.

However, the six-year-old also enjoys having her hair done, ballet dancing, and (adorably) thinking about unicorns! For Princess Charlotte, royal life is about learning to respect both the monarchy and people from different worlds and households.

“In the last year or so, we’ve seen Charlotte and her siblings emerge more on to the public stage – a deliberate move by William and Kate, who initially protected them from the spotlight but are becoming more relaxed now,” pointed out Katie. “Allowing the public to see photos and footage of Charlotte is fuelling her popularity further and helping the public connect with her – especially all those charming moments, like when she poked her tongue out at the King’s Cup Regatta in 2019.”

Happy birthday to the royal family’s tiniest royal princess!
