She further shared her feelings about her three-year initiative Nursing Now campaign coming to conclusion and her hopes for the work that’s been done through the program and for more that could be achieved in the future.
Royal Family News – Kate Middleton Celebrates the Conclusion of Her 2018 Nursing Now Campaign
In honor of the closure of her three-year Nursing Now campaign, the Duchess appeared in a video message wearing an outfit she’d previously worn for a royal tour of Poland in July 2017. The white Alexander McQueen peplum skirt suit was supplemented with an Asprey Diamond Daisy Pendant that added a little glimmer.
“Although we can’t be together in person at this closing of the Nursing Now campaign, I wanted to say a huge congratulations to the incredible work that you’ve done over the last three years,” the 39-year-old Duchess started.
“When Nursing Now was launched in 2018, we had no way of knowing just how much the work, dedication, and infinite care of nurses would be tested, needed, and appreciated. COVID-19 has highlighted the vital role that nurses provide, which we all rely on,” she continued. “And it’s made all the more extraordinary when we consider the huge sacrifices and personal demands that have been placed on all of you by the pandemic.”
The Duchess also gave her heartfelt thanks to the workers on the frontlines and their colleagues from around the world for the incredible work they put in every single day, especially during “the hardest of years” that came in the name of a coronavirus pandemic.
“This short film shows some of the amazing work that Nursing Now has been doing over the last three years to develop the confidence, training, and leadership potential of over 30,000 nurses and midwives worldwide.”
The Royal Patron called her interview with Harriet Nayiga, a midwife from Uganda, “inspiring” and praised her work for being “humbling and inspiring”. Kate also wished that she would be able to one day see Harriet’s work firsthand.
“I wish you all the very best for your future work,” the royal mom-of-three said.
Kate Middleton’s Other Engagements
In addition to her important work with the Nursing Now campaign, Kate is also involved with other charitable causes and royal patronages, which includes groups that support early childhood wellness, mental health, sports and the outdoors, and the National Art Gallery, The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, alongside others.
Kate, alongside her husband Prince William, will tour Scotland on Monday, with scheduled stops at the college town St. Andrews University (where the young lovers first met nearly twenty years ago) and Orkney, in their first official visit.
