British royal family news shows that Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Sussex, earned rave reviews for her recent appearance at a royal holiday event. Kate showed that she is the hostest with the mostest on Wednesday night when she arrived at Westminster Abbey with her husband Prince William along with other members of the royal family. Kate was charged with hosting duties for a Christmas carol concert and she showed that she has what it takes to pull off the perfect performance as a guest host.

Kate organized the concert titled Royal Carols: Together At Christmas and it was supported by The Royal Foundation. Not only was the event a celebration of joy for this time of the holiday season, it also paid tribute to millions of unsung heroes across the U.K. who worked in their communities throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Kate was a stunning fashion plate in a festive red Catherine Walker dress adorned with a fun bow. She accessorized her dress with a pair of the royal family’s best earrings. The Abbey was resplendent in Christmas decorations and Queen Elizabeth donated several Christmas trees from Windsor Great Park to adorn the Abbey.

The event was filmed for a later air date and featured carols sung by the Westminster Abbey choir. Superstars Ellie Goulding, Tom Walker, and Leona Lewis thrilled the audience with breathtaking selections. Prince William delivered a reading from Luke 2:1-7 during the service.

The holiday special will be broadcast on ITV on Christmas Eve. Katie Rawcliffe is ITV’s Head of Entertainment Commissioning and she said the hope is that the event brings everyone together.

Kate and William’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, were not in tow but several other royals were there including Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, and Sophie, Countess of Wessex. Kate’s parents Michael and Carole Middleton and siblings Pippa Middleton and James Middleton and his new wife Alizee Thevenet were also there to see the Duchess shine.

The concert program was written by Kate and read in part, “We have lost loved ones, seen out frontline workers placed under immeasurable pressure, and we have experienced heart-wrenching isolation from those we hold most dear. Alongside this, we have seen how communities have come together to support those most in need. And through our separation from others, we have been reminded just how powerful human connection is to us all. Just how much we need one another. And how loving and feeling a sense of belonging to one another can provide comfort in tough times. The importance of simply being together.”
