According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, Carole drilled into her daughter a high level of ambition which has helped her achieve her goals, and dare we say, nab a prince. She and Prince William have been married for ten years and have three beautiful children.
At one time Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, seemed a reluctant star. Today she is praised as a natural leader, without any of the stuffiness or arrogance other royals have been accused of. Already she is one of the most talked-about women in the world, and the spotlight will only get brighter when she and William become leaders of the monarchy.
Her 40th birthday is Sunday, January 9 and Kate looks to mark the milestone birthday with a low key celebration at home with her family.

In recent days it was reported that Kate has, “no interest in fame,” and simply pined for a, “house in the country and loads of kids.”
According to Seward, Carole Middleton’s own ambition and perfectionism shaped Kate into becoming the accomplished and self-assured woman she is today. She noted, “She learnt to sail as a young girl and rock climb and ski. She loved cooking, dressing up and making clothes. She learnt the piano, her father taught her to play tennis to a high standard.”
“All these skills came because her ambitious mother encouraged her to learn them. There’s nothing she can’t turn her hand to.”
