Royal Family News: Kate Middleton’s Family Are An Important Part Of The Extended Royal Family

British royal family news divulges that Kate Middleton Duchess of Cambridge saw her immediate family welcomed into the Royal Family in contrast to the experience that Princess Diana’s family had.

One expert is now claiming that the royals understood they made a mistake by not welcoming Diana’s family and wished to make amends. On the recently aired Channel 5 documentary, When the Middletons Met the Monarchy, one expert claimed that the royals wished to avoid a similar situation.

The show depicted Kate’s family as she married into royalty. It in her case it was not common for a future King to marry someone like her, a non-royal from an average, middle-class family.

The late Diana Princess of Wales once revealed that she felt adrift and lonely in her marriage to Charles whom she eventually divorced. She was also open about mental health issues.

One royal watcher claimed that the royals did not want to see a sad repeat of Diana’s situation and thus claims that the family consciously chose to accept Kate and her family with open arms.

In contrast, Diana’s 13-year age gap with Charles, plus his affair with now-wife Camilla Parker Bowles, caused tension and ultimately ended their relationship.

Royal Family News – Kate Middleton’s Family Has Been Warmly Welcomed

In the documentary another royal watcher noted that royal brides can be crushed by the Royal Family’s expectations and lose their sense of self.

It appears that this has not happened with the Duchess of Cambridge who has maintained strong ties to her family: parents Michael and Carole, and siblings Pippa and James.

Particularly in recent years Kate has been seen as growing into her role and increasingly projecting a confident, strong public image.

Katie Nicholl, “I think very much there is a feeling in the Palace that they want to learn from the mistakes of the past and didn’t want a royal bride who felt isolated and lonely and cut off from her family and miserable.”

Royal Family News – The Royals Did Not Want A Repeat of Diana.

She added, “So I definitely think courtiers were determined that Kate should marry into the family feeling as comfortable as possible. And I just don’t think William was going to take any changes ‒ I mean, he adores the Middletons.”

Katie went on to explain, “He has a very close relationship with Michael and Carole, so he also did not want them to be sidelined as soon as Kate married into the family.”
