Royal Family News: King Charles Acted Like He Didn’t Want To Be At His Coronation

Did King Charles act as though he didn’t want to be at his own coronation? That’s what a lot of royal fans and critics alike can’t help but wonder as there’s a new report that suggest the King of England looked rather ‘glum’ during his own coronation.

In other words, it wasn’t the party that everyone was expecting it to be. Keep reading below for everything you need to know.

According to Express, royal expert Clive Irving, who wrote a book called The Last Queen, says that King Charles looked like he wanted to be anywhere but at the coronation. Irving put it this way, “King Charles looked glum, almost as if he didn’t want to be there.”

Comparing King Charles’ coronation to Queen Elizabeth’s own festivities, Irving added, “She just seemed to be the whole center of it. She glowed. She was the focus. Charles didn’t even manage to be the focus of it, He seemed either tired, short-tempered or misplaced, as if he was uncomfortable with the whole idea of being there.”

If that weren’t enough, Irving added that with Queen Elizabeth, there was a quality of mystique about her. Unfortunately, the same can’t be said about King Charles, who has waited his entire life for the job. He said, “The monarchy cannot function if the person at the center of it doesn’t look happy and doesn’t project a sense of confidence and a sureness of touch.”
