There’s a new report that says old letters that were written by Princess Diana are seeing the light of day as she detailed just how difficult it was for her to keep her head up during her very “ugly’ divorce from the future king of England at the time. According to a new report, Princess Diana’s letters to her friends Susie and Tarek Kassem are being auctioned this week. As many royal fans do remember, she and Charles pulled the plug on their marriage back in 1992, but their divorce was not finalized until August 1996, and exactly one year before her ultimately death.

Diana supposedly had a very “special and loving relationship” with the Kassems and that’s why she wrote such intimate letters to them about her struggles with her divorce.

Diana wrote in her letters, “I am having a very difficult time and pressure is serious and coming from all sides. It’s too difficult sometimes to keep one’s head up. And today I am on my knees and just longing for this divorce to go through as the possible cost is tremendous.”

She also added, “If I’d known a year ago what I’d experience going through this divorce I never would have consented. It’s desperate and ugly.”

The letters were written between 1995 and 1996. Reports say that proceeds from the auction will be donated to charities that Princess Diana once supported herself. The description of the letters say, “Some letters do touch on the enormous stress she was experiencing during periods of very public heartbreak, yet her strength of character and her generous and witty disposition shine through.
