British royal family news reveals that King Charles is miffed over a family event which he chose not to attend. So why is he upset if he wasn’t even there? Apparently, it has to do with his disgraced brother, Andrew the Duke of York. The event went down last weekend and several other family members were there.
Royal Family News – Why Is Charles Upset With His Family?
The Daily Mail reported that Charles’ sister Princess Anne and his brother Prince Edward were among the royal family members present for a shooting party held at Windsor. It went right before Charles’ 74th birthday. The fact that sidelined Prince Andrew was at the event apparently did not sit well with King Charles.
Royal Family News – Charles Is Upset Before His Birthday
A source spilled, “King Charles was said to be displeased that Edward and Anne had been publicly meeting up with Andrew and wanted it made clear that he had not been part of the shoot. Anne and Edward had been privately concerned about Andrew and wanted to check on him. But Charles’s view is that he should not be in the public eye. His Majesty was not thrilled at all.”
To be clear, Andrew is indubitably persona non grata when it comes to representing the monarchy. He has been stripped of his titles and patronages and is expected to sit in the shadows while the non-disgraced family members party and appear on behalf of the King.
Royal Family News – Andrew Is A Disgrace?
For example, Andrew is expected to be at Sandringham to celebrate Christmas with the family, but he will, “not be allowed to attend the royals’ annual walk on Christmas day.”
Thus, Andrew is a part of the family, but not a part of the monarchy, per se.
At the same time that King Charles is looking to distance himself from his younger brother Andrew, is he also experiencing tension with younger brother Prince Edward? Some royal experts think this to be the case because, “Edward had been expected to inherit the Duke of Edinburgh title following his father’s death, and still doesn’t have it—which a source close to the royal family icily said hasn’t gone unnoticed.” For those keeping tally, Charles has also not indicated whether or not he will grant titles to his grandchildren Lili and Archie, the offspring of Harry and Meghan the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
Now, now Charles, ‘tis said it is better to give than to receive ….
