Charles became king on September 8, upon the passing of his mother Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. Why hasn’t he made a decision yet? Let’s unpack what we know to date about this simmering debate.
Royal Family News: King Charles Has a Decision to Make
Royal expert Katie Nicholl addressed the issue in Vanity Fair. According to her, “Now that Charles is king, Harry and Meghan’s children automatically become Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex; however, at the time of writing, the royal family’s website still has them listed as Master Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Miss Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor.”
In addition, upon the death of Queen Elizabeth, Harry and Meghan’s children have not received the “His/Her Royal Highness” designation.
Nicholl stated she was told by an inside source that, the title debate depends, “a lot on what happens in the coming months, particularly with Harry’s book and [the Sussexes’ Netflix] TV show.”

In other words, a lot depends upon what Harry says in his memoir and what the so-called Netflix “Keeping Up With The Markles” show has to say about the royal family.
Harry’s memoir is expected to contain his patented nasty “truth bombs,” and before the queen died it was rumored that the monarchy “lawyered up” in response.
Now there is a reality show from the royal runaways to factor into the title situation. If Harry and Meghan drag his family, the likelihood that their children will get titles becomes nil.
Royal Family News: Will Harry Drag The Fam Again?
Interestingly enough, it is Harry and Meghan fighting for titles that they themselves threw away via Megxit. Wouldn’t it be ironic if after all their bun kissing, the kids grew up to despise and dispense with the titles? Kids have a way of resisting the dreams their parents set out for them … Harry being the perfect example.
