British royal family news shows that Lifetime’s new flick about your favorite royal runaways is already causing a stir. Why? It’s a movie about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s called, “Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace.” There’s no controversy there, they have done just that.

The Lifetime drama drops September 6 and boasts that it, “explores what really happened inside the palace that drove Harry (Jordan Dean) and Meghan (Sydney Morton) to leave everything behind in order to make a future for themselves and their son Archie,” according to Lifetime.

Again, there’s nothing in that description we haven’t heard since the Markle’s themselves have freely told their pity party narrative with enough pathos to make it seem they were subject to conditions in a Shakespearean tragedy.

The film also gives us a repeat performance of their infamous Oprah Winfrey interview in which they bizarrely made claims of their posh palace existence that were easily refuted—his dad took away his allowance, she was held prisoner. What is left to scandalize viewers that we haven’t already heard or seen from these two?

Royal Family News – Harry Is Afraid Of History

It’s the opening scene of Lifetime’s “Harry & Meghan: Escaping the Palace” that has tongues wagging. It is a dream sequence in which faux Harry has a faux nightmare about a faux car crash. His mother princess Diana died in a car crash in 1997 and this scene has fake Meghan acting out a similar situation.

Social media is full of comments about the movie and that scene. According to the Daily Mail fans are calling the nightmare scenario “tasteless” and “abhorrent.”

The 24th anniversary of Princess Diana’s death was August 31 and some royal fans think Lifetime went a bit too far this time. Harry himself has said he worries that his wife will meet a fate similar to his mother.
