Not only have they have battered its reputation, they demanded exorbitant amounts of money to make them happy before they publicly snubbed the country and his family.

When Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were in the UK, the royal family, along with British taxpayers, footed several outragous bills for them. Try not to gag when you see how many millions went to feeding Meghan’s extravagant taste for designer clothes.

The royal wedding alone cost a reported $45 million. British wedding site Bridebook added up the cost of fine dining, snipers, undercover police and military tech not to mention: a $70,000 lemon elderflower wedding cake from Violet Bakery in East London, flowers outside of St. George’s Chapel at Windsor for $150,000, a reported $420,000 to hire the glass marquee for the evening reception at the Frogmore House, and $440,000 on Meghan’s iconic Givenchy gown.

How could Meghan throw away half a million dollars on one dress if she is so passionate about feeding the poor and committed to aiding the disadvantaged?

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Frogmore Cottage renovations reportedly cost $3.2 million. Then there was their planned move into Apartment 1 in Kensington Palace, “estimated to cost in excess of £4 million [$5.5 million].”

Frogmore Cottage underwent extensive renovations which reportedly cost $3.2 million in taxpayer money, though the Duke and Duchess of Sussex eventually paid the money back, per the New York Times.

Royal Family News – Meghan Dressed Lavishly At Taxpayer Expense

According to a 2018 report, Markle’s wardrobe was worth at least $1 million. Her Stella McCartney reception attire alone cost upwards of $157,000.

Royal expert Katie Nicholl told Entertainment Tonight at the time, “It may be that Meghan contributed certainly some of the costs for either of those wedding dresses, or perhaps both of those wedding dresses, I believe was also picked up by the palace.”

As for her everyday clothes, Nicholl said, “It does fall now, that she is married into the royal family, to the Prince of Wales [Charles] … to cover the cost of her working royal wardrobe.”
