British royal family news reveals that there’s a desperate search on for a new word to adequately capture Meghan Markle’s ultra-cringe Variety interview in which she appears to parody—herself. Full on SNL parody. It’s full of eye rolls, blank stares and hacking giggles, plus Meghan rolling on the ground and talking to the ruffle on her dress. What was Variety thinking?

They allowed Meghan to make a stuttering mess of herself in a bombshell interview in which she, “paid tribute to the Queen yet hinted that her death and its fallout had been ‘complicated’ for Prince Harry but he remains ‘ever-optimistic’.” Oh my, that’s the sound of the palace lawyering up.

For some reason (ka-ching) Variety saw fit to interview Meghan, film her, and put her on the cover. She talks about herself, herself, and herself. Plus she wants you to know that the ugly Oprah interview was not as bad as it seemed, and that her “love story” with Harry inspires the world because, “people love love.”
