British royal family news divulges that Prince Harry’s father, King Charles III, became king after the death of Queen Elizabeth II in September. Charles’ challenges include modernizing Britain’s 1,000-year-old monarchy while at the same time reining in his raucous son hellbent on denting if not obliterating The Firm.
The official coronation ceremony occurs on May 6 at London’s Westminster Abbey and the rumor mill is running wild with speculation about the attendance of Harry and Meghan the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
According to Fox News, Meghan is “overwhelmed” by the backlash created by the couple trashing the monarchy for three years. Maybe a tatt reading ‘actions have consequences’ would help?
Royal Family News – Meghan Upset?
Royal expert Kinsey Schofield told the outlet that, “Meghan is upset and overwhelmed. It’s not that Meghan feels excluded with the planning. Meghan feels like the palace is only fighting for Prince Harry to attend and they don’t care whether she shows up or not. And that does not sit well with her.”
She went on to explain that “rejection” is one of Meghan’s “greatest insecurities.”
“She does not want to be booed or humiliated on a global scale, yet she understands that her brand stateside increases in value with her proximity to the royal family.” Of note, the couple were loudly booed in June at the Queen’s Jubilee celebration and prematurely departed the country.
Royal Family News – Meghan And Harry Backlash
The drubbing comes on the heels of their tacky Netflix docuseries “Harry & Meghan” and Harry’s whiney memoir “Spare.” Harry told ITV’s Tom Bradby about his attendance: “There’s a lot that can happen between now and then. But the door is always open. The ball is in their court… There’s a lot to be discussed, and I really hope that they’re willing to sit down and talk about it.”
Schofield concluded: “If Harry does attend, I expect that he will feel a sense of loneliness.”
Royal Family News – Harry Is Lonely?
Royal expert Christopher Andersen told the outlet that the royal runaways may decide to sit it out at home in California particularly because the date is their son Archie’s birthday.
“There are genuine security concerns, to be sure, and then there is the prospect of the Sussexes being roundly booed. Harry and Megan are still licking their wounds over having been sidelined during the queen’s funeral [in September]. It’s highly doubtful that they would be willing to face the prospect of that sort of public humiliation again.”
“Would Harry attend alone?” he asked rhetorically. “Not likely, in light of Archie’s birthday – and the fact that Harry and Meghan have to put up a united front. Anything less than that would lead to speculation that perhaps Harry is having second thoughts about turning his back on the monarchy.”
We will all know the answer to this burning question soon enough. In the meantime Harry has threatened that he has much more material for a second memoir.
